Sure you've heard Clapton do 'Crossroads'
but that is a far cry from the way the song was
originally done. Written and performed first by a man
named Robert Johnson, it was one of many, by Johnson and
others, that would epitimise the Delta blues sound and
style. This style is the foundation of all blues music.
Many people don't think of, or don't know
about, the roots of the blues. There were no electric
guitar solos or hard driving bass lines. Instead, think
of someone beating out a tune on a weather beaten, road
worn six string hoping for little more than maybe their
next meal.
This is some modern, original
blues written and performed by Sleepy Greg &
the Insomniacs. Based in Kokomo Indiana, the
Insomniacs are writing and recording new,
original music for blues listeners. Click the

Here are some pictures taken
locally of people who love to play the blues. You
can ask any of these folks and they'll tell you
it's all about getting together and having a good
times with other musicians. This is truely a
mix... some people who have played together and
have a history which goes back years.... others
are brand new but have that burning desire to
play the blues.... it doesn't matter either
way.... as long as everyone gets their bite.
Here's some samples of some of the
music that gets played. Much of it is Delta blues
but all kinds of blues music get's played. If you
have some time, give it a listen
